I’ve had this book for quite some time, but the other day I went back through, flipping through it. When I first got it, I was rather disappointed. I had ordered it expecting more of a book of the similarities and basis of Lord of the Rings in Christianity. When I got it, it turned out to be more of a devotional booklet than anything else. It wasn’t particularly long.

But when I was going back through it, I paid more attention than I did the first time. It surprised me how much Lord of the Rings paralleled Christianity, and how there are so many Christian principles that we can pull, extract, or wrangle out of Lord of the Rings. Now, this book is probably only interesting to total Lord of the Rings junkies such as myself, but I found it on it’s second time through insightful, interesting, and inspiring.

This is really cool. I have always been interested in the meaning of people’s names and have always found it interesting to compare the meaning of the name to how the person is. The only problem is that no one has ever been able to tell me what my name means. It’s kinda onbscure. Not only is it an uncommon name, it has quite the strange spelling also. Allyn. So today I finally got motivated to the point of finding a site on the net that is a name meaning search engine. (If you are interested, here it is.) Here I found that no one is really sure what my name means, except that it is derived from the old language of the Bretons, and might possibly mean either “Little Rock” or “Handsome.” Either name is fine with me. Its a really cool site though and i definitely think that everyone should check this out.

I am surprised that Bush has so much of a lead so far. This is definitely encouraging. I thought that he would win, but I also thought that it would take a long time of bitter arguing before anything was decided. If this ends soon, there is hope for this nation yet. More posts as events warrant
