I know it is about time for a rant, or even a post, but the overwhelming load of work I’ve had to do lately has left me no time. The only good thing about it is that I now have A TON of good rant material for this friday (or sooner by some miracle).

Well, now everything’s mostly back in it’s place. I still have to fix the forum, but our old address (thesecretfire.fdns.net) should work now.
Well, due to the high likelyhood of our host going down, we’ve moved. Our new address is thesecretfire.blogsite.org, which currently redirects to the address you see in your address bar. Our old address still redirects here, though I don’t know for how much longer. This is going to be a bit rough, but I’m hoping I’ll find a more stable place to host The Secret Fire, and be able to keep our old address. But, we’ll see.
Well, sorry for the downtime, but at least this time I was scheduled on my part (sort of). I had planned to make a quick change-over to a different host, thus ending our flickering and unreliable service. Too bad the control panel at the other host wouldn’t accept our domain as a valid domain (which it isn’t really, but it works and acts just like one). Frustration of frustrations!
Well, the move was unsuccessful, but I’m going to be trying to figure out a way to move hosts eventually, but in a more remote environment, so I won’t have to play around with the nameservers for an active website.
*sigh*
On a lighter note, I’m feeling better.
Okay, I’d like to apologize to everyone for having the site down for so long. I could go on and on giving reasons and explanations, but none would really fit the bill, so I’d just like to say I’m sorry.
I’ve taken measures to ensure that it won’t happen again, or at any rate, it won’t happen for such a long period of time. Thankfully no data was lost, so that’s a plus.
Even though i haven’t posted in a couple days, I really have nothing to say.

Some of you may be wondering about what ‘The Secret Fire’ actually is. Well, if you don’t already know, it is from Lord of the Rings. Gandalf is the “Servant of the Secret Fire.” He says this while facing the balrog on the bridge of Khazad-Dûm. (aka the giant fire monster over the bottomless pit where Gandalf ‘dies’) The Secret Fire is the good force in the world that is constantly striving against the evil. This is not some ‘yin-yang’ thing, but more like a Holy Spirit, thing. This is where the name came from. This is not specifically a Lord of the Rings site, but ‘Shadow of the West’ and I are both fans, so there will probably be numerous references to it. My name comes from the elvish word for sun. The Flame of Anor is also known as one of the three elvish rings of power that is ‘wielded’ by Gandalf. As for Shadow’s name, well you’d have to ask him because I’m not sure myself.
